Third set of Wave 3 Made-for-Wales draft specifications now available
We are pleased to publish the third set of draft specifications for the third Wave of our Made-for-Wales qualifications. This release includes VCSEs and Work Related Foundation qualifications, offering further learning pathways to learners across Wales.
Now available to view online, these draft specifications have been submitted to Qualifications Wales for approval and are intended for first teaching from September 2027.

Collaboration has been at the heart of this work. By engaging extensively with practitioners, employers, learners and other key stakeholders, we have ensured that a broad range of perspectives has informed the design of each qualification.
As a result, we are confident that these specifications will support a modern, inclusive and forward-looking education system that reflects the ambitions of the Curriculum for Wales.
Each qualification has been carefully developed to inspire learners across Wales, providing them with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to succeed in further study, employment and an increasingly dynamic global society.”

Entry Level/Level 1 Work Related Foundation qualifications:

- Creative and Media Production, and Technology
- Engineering
- Health and Social Care, and Childcare
- Travel and Tourism
Please note, due to regulatory constraints, we cannot publish the final, approved specifications until September.
