New AS/A level in Built Environment

We are pleased to announce that our new GCE AS and A level qualifications in Built Environment are available to centres in Wales for teaching from autumn 2022. The first award for the AS will be 2023, whereas the A level will be 2024.

Our GCE qualifications build upon our new GCSE in Built Environment, and advances learners' understanding of the built environment, including professional and technical roles within it and the range of buildings, assets and structures that comprise it.

The specification and sample assessments materials, which have been approved by Qualifications Wales are available to download from our website.

Discussing our new qualification, Allan Perry, Subject Officer for Construction commented:

 "Our new suite of Built Environment qualifications have been developed in consultation with sector leaders and industry experts to ensure that they provide the foundations to enable learners to consider different careers within the construction industry. In addition, the topics covered will allow centres with different facilities, resources and skills amongst their staff to deliver the qualifications with confidence."

Training and Resources
To support centres in introducing these new qualifications we will be producing a raft of free digital resources and a series of Professional Learning courses.

In support of our GCSE, we are working with Qualifications Wales to deliver a programme of free webinars from January, further information is available here.
