WJEC Entry Level / Level 1 Foundation Sport and Leisure
The WJEC WRFQ in Sport and Leisure offers learners aged 14–16 an engaging, practical introduction to a sector that plays a vital role in Welsh health, wellbeing and learners’ sense of cynefin.
It develops essential knowledge and transferable skills such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving, as well as confidence working with others in real activity settings.
The qualification supports progression to post-16 study and employment pathways, helping learners explore genuine career opportunities across sport and leisure in Wales.
Who is this qualification for?
The WRFQ Sport and Leisure qualification is designed to promote positive vocational experiences for 14–16 learners working from Entry Level to Level 1. It offers a structured, practical pathway into understanding the role of sport and leisure in Welsh life, helping learners build confidence and core skills.
The qualification provides an excellent foundation for progression to post-16 training or learning and, where appropriate, GCSEs or VCSEs.
