WJEC Entry Level / Level 1 Foundation Mathematics and Numeracy
About the General Foundation Qualification in Mathematics and Numeracy
This qualification covers key mathematical topics at Entry Level, as well as a range of Level 1 content that provides learners with a bridge towards GCSE level study.
All topics are highly relevant for today’s learners and will help develop the five interdependent proficiencies that make up the Curriculum for Wales’s principles of progression in this area.
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is for learners between 14-16 who are working at Entry Level/Level 1 in this subject.
It will build on the conceptual understanding learners have developed through their Curriculum for Wales learning from ages 3-14. It also relates to and supports the four purposes and the principles of progression.
The qualification will provide a broad basis for progression onto GCSE Mathematics and Numeracy (Double Award) by focussing on similar skills and understanding.
