About the General Foundation Qualification in Cymraeg

The Entry Level Foundation Cymraeg is designed for learners working from Entry Level 1 to Entry Level 3, providing a supported and inclusive route for developing essential communication skills for everyday life, learning, and the world of work.

This qualification empowers learners to build confidence and competence in reading, writing, speaking and listening, with a strong focus on relevance, accessibility and real-life application.

Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is for learners between 14-16 who are working at Entry Level in this subject.
It will build on the conceptual understanding learners have developed through their Curriculum for Wales learning from ages 3-14. It also relates to and supports the four purposes and the principles of progression.

The qualification will provide a broad basis for progression onto GCSE Iaith a Llenyddiaeth Gymraeg by focussing on similar skills and understanding.
