AS/A Level Geography

Following consultation with centres, we have decided to pause the amendments at this stage to allow for further discussions, including with Qualifications Wales.  Therefore, we will not be introducing the planned changes to the qualification in September 27. We are confident that learners’ progression onto the AS/A levels from the new Made-for-Wales GCSE will not be affected. We will communicate further in due course. 

All GCE Geography NEA samples must be uploaded to IAMIS by 20 March 2027. Please note that postal submissions will not be accepted. Full guidance on uploading samples to IAMIS can be found here. The IAMIS Portal will be available for mark submission from 10 March 2027.

Look under 'Key Documents' > 'Independent Investigation Guidance' for our new form if you would like further advice on your pupils’ NEA titles. The form is for teachers' use only and you should send it together with the proposal forms that are causing concern to the email address on the form.
