Sustainability with WJEC

WJEC has collaborated with the office of the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales to create a suite of sustainability focused qualifications.

Learners will explore ways in which Wales and other countries are approaching sustainability and will be introduced to the seven well being goals adopted in the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 and how these relate to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  Learners will also have the opportunity to explore sustainability with four distinct areas:\n<ul>\n<li>Climate change</li>\n<li>Industry and business</li>\n<li>Residential</li>\n<li>Waste, the circular economy and transport</li>\n</ul>\nCentres can select and combine units to develop flexible learning programmes that meet the needs of an individual learner or group of learners. <a href=\"https://www.wjec.co.uk/qualifications/entry-level-level-1-and-level-2-sustainability-in-context/#tab_keydocuments\" data-anchor=\"#tab_keydocuments\">> Visit the qualification page</a>"},{"accordionTitle":"Sustainability in Practice (Future Changemakers) - Level 2","accordionTitleSecondary":null,"accordionImage":"","accordionContent":"This qualification is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to implement sustainable practices within their settings. Learners will explore the principles and four dimensions of sustainability within their setting, identifying opportunities for new or improved sustainable practices. They will plan and complete a Sustainability Project that will oversee the implementation of new sustainable practices within their setting. Learners will showcase their ability to manage the project by demonstrating effective project and change management skills, including setting realistic goals, conducting research, and utilising project management tools. Learners will execute their Sustainability Project, measuring and analysing its impacts, evaluating its success, and proposing next steps. They will reflect on the skills and tools used, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of project management, change management and sustainable practices.
