WJEC expands its Wave 3 qualification offer, providing greater choice for learners across Wales

Following the successful approval of our full suite of Wave 3 Made-for-Wales qualifications by Qualifications Wales, we are delighted to confirm that we will develop both VCSE and Foundation qualifications in Business, Accounting and Finance.

This expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to providing learners across Wales with a broad range of high-quality, relevant learning opportunities and further strengthens our Made-for-Wales qualification offer.

Commenting on the announcement, Rachel Dodge, Acting Assistant Director: Qualification Development (Vocational Qualifications and Skills), said:

"We are delighted to develop new qualifications in Business, Accounting and Finance as part of our Wave 3 Made-for-Wales offer.

We are committed to providing learners across Wales with a broad range of learning opportunities, and the inclusion of these qualifications will further enhance our existing offer.

Our Qualification Development Team will now be working at pace, utilising our co-construction approach to develop these qualifications. By working closely with educational practitioners and industry experts, we will ensure that the content reflects the needs of industry and helps learners develop the skills, knowledge and understanding needed for future success."

VCSE (Level 1 / Level 2) Business, Accounting and Finance
This qualification will introduce learners to key business, accounting and finance concepts, develops their understanding of sustainable and responsible business practices, and enables them to apply their learning through a practical business project with a strong finance and accounting focus.

Work-related Foundation Qualification (Entry Level / Level 1) Business, Accounting and Finance
The qualification will be designed to offer learners an introduction to business activity and operations, helping them understand how businesses work in practice while developing practical skills through the creation and implementation of a business idea.
