
Today candidates receive their 2021 GCSE and Welsh Baccalaureate results
Today, students across Wales will receive their GCSE, Level 1 / 2 and National/Foundation Welsh Baccalaureate qualification results.
Wales GCSE results
- 98.5% of students in Wales achieved A* - G at GCSE
- 28.7% of students achieved A* - A
- 73.6% of students achieved grades A* - C
National/Foundation Welsh Baccalaureate
- 97.5% of students achieved the National/Foundation Skills Challenge Certificate, a small decrease of 2.0 percentage points on 2020
- More than 95% of candidates passed the National/Foundation Welsh Baccalaureate
Ian Morgan, Chief Executive, WJEC commented: "Today we recognise the achievements of thousands of learners across the country following a particularly challenging period. The qualifications they receive today reflects their years of studying, but also the support and guidance provided by their families and friends.
'We also acknowledge the hard work and professionalism of teachers, lecturers and teams working at schools and colleges across the country; they've demonstrated huge commitment and support for their students.
‘Today marks the beginning of their journey into a range of different paths, including further education or employment – whatever their choice, I wish them the very best in their endeavours.”
