Qualifications Wales confirms January 2021 GCSE unit exams will be cancelled

Qualifications Wales has announced the cancellation of January exams for GCSE ICT, GCSE English literature and GCSE Welsh Literature.

January exams for the last resit opportunity for legacy GCSE qualifications will proceed as scheduled; there will also be January exams for all Entry Level Certificate, Level 1/2 Awards and Certificates, and Level 2 and 3 Health, Social Care and Childcare qualifications in Wales.

As an exam board, committed to playing our part in delivering a fair and balanced approach for learners, we will need to consider carefully the effect this decision will have on our processes.

We would like to reassure our schools and colleges that we will continue to work closely with the Design and Delivery Advisory Group and Qualifications Wales to finalise arrangements for the delivery of the summer 2021 qualifications.
