Proposed adaptations to WJEC GCEs in summer 2021 – teacher consultation
We are aware that school and college closures will have impacted learners working towards their A levels in summer 2021, and we understand that the disruption to teaching and learning is challenging for centres and learners.
Consequently, we have worked closely with Qualifications Wales to consider appropriate adaptations to our A level qualifications. We have engaged with focus groups of teachers from different parts of Wales to formulate proposals for adaptations to A levels for 2021. We now wish to consult more widely on the proposed adaptations. We have also considered minimal adaptations, to account for government guidance on social distancing, at AS.
We have produced a subject booklet outlining all our proposed adaptations, and the principles underpinning their design – teachers can access this document via our secure website here.
Your opinion matters to us, and we encourage you and your teams to share your thoughts on our proposals via our survey. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes and can be accessed via this link here. If you intend to respond to more than one subject proposal, you will need to complete the survey for each subject for which you are responding.
We are aiming to confirm details of the adaptations by the week commencing 3rd August 2020. Therefore we would appreciate it if you could complete the survey by the 19th July.
Please note that we will also be sharing proposals with teachers on our Vocational Qualifications in due course.
