Comprehensive free Digital Resource package to support Wave 3 qualifications

We are delighted to announce a comprehensive package of FREE digital resources to support the delivery of our new suite of Made-for-Wales qualifications, including VCSEs, Foundation Qualifications, the Skills Suite and Personal Project qualifications. 

Developed in response to feedback from centres across Wales, these bilingual online resources will begin to be released from autumn 2026, with the full suite available by summer 2027. All teaching materials will be fully editable, allowing teachers to adapt resources to suit their learners and teaching approaches. 

Commenting on the launch, Melanie Blount, Assistant Director, Educational Resources, said: 

“We are delighted to be developing a comprehensive package of support materials for teachers and learners delivering our new Wave 3 qualifications. 

Throughout the development process, we have worked closely with teachers and learners to ensure that the resources meet the specific needs of each qualification and support effective teaching and learning in the classroom. 

The first resources will be available from October 2026, with new materials being added on a weekly basis. This phased approach will ensure teachers have access to high-quality support as they begin planning and delivering these qualifications. 

We are confident that the breadth, depth and quality of these free teaching materials will provide exceptional support for centres across Wales.” 

A comprehensive range of resources

Our Digital Resources Team is developing a wide range of materials designed to support both teaching and learning, including: 

  • Blended Learning resources – providing flexible digital and classroom-based learning materials that support independent study, revision and teacher-led delivery. 
  • Teacher notes – providing subject knowledge, guidance and teaching ideas to support effective delivery, particularly for non-specialist teachers. 
  • Worksheets – offering activities and tasks that enable learners to practise, apply and reinforce knowledge and skills. 
  • Skills and knowledge organisers – summarising the essential skills and knowledge required within a topic area. 
  • Guidance documents – providing practical advice and support to help teachers and learners successfully deliver and engage with qualifications. 
  • PowerPoint presentations – offering ready-to-use teaching and learning content to introduce, explain and reinforce key concepts across a range of units.
