Assessments 2021: Qualifications Wales statement

Following yesterday's announcement by the UK Government on the cancellation of GCSE and A level examinations in England, Qualifications Wales has today published a statement in response.

In the announcement, Qualifications Wales has reassured learners and teachers in Wales that it ‘will be continually monitoring arrangements put in place for the assessment of qualifications in 2021 in the light of changing policy on the opening of schools and colleges.’

At WJEC, we are committed to working with the Welsh Government’s Design and Delivery Advisory Group, and in collaboration with the wider education community, to ensure that Wales’ learners are given every opportunity to show what they know, understand, and can do in 2021.
