Entry Level
New Entry Level Units and Qualifications
Entry Level qualifications are being revised to provide a more flexible unitised framework within the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
The new Entry Pathways specification, which includes general regulations, administrative arrangements, a list of units and rules of combination, may be downloaded by clicking here.
Units are grouped under the following qualification titles:
- Personal Progress
- Personal and Social Development
- Independent Living
- Preparing for Work
- Science Today
- Humanities
- Creative and Media
Key Features of the new provision
- Recognises completion of each unit as well as of the qualification as a whole, through the award of credit.
- Allows units to be combined to create programmes of work suited to individual learner needs.
- Enables assessment evidence to be produced from integrated programmes of work and at appropriate points in the course.
- Promotes progression through Entry 1, 2 and 3 and on to Level 1.
Further details of units available for teaching from September 2010 and certification from Summer 2011 can be downloaded by clicking 'show all documents' at the right of this page.
