Physical Education GCSE (from 2016)

We have developed a reformed GCSE Physical Education specification, approved by Qualifications Wales, for teaching from 2016. This qualification meets regulatory requirements in Wales.

Textbooks

WJEC currently endorse a textbook which has been published Illuminate Publishing, titled, “GCSE PE, Introduction to Physical Education, Study and Revision Guide”. This can be purchased online via the Illuminate Publishing website directly, or other online sellers.


New Resources Available

The interactive resource for the new WJEC GCSE 2016 Specification is currently available via the digital resources page. 

In addition to this, Welsh Government have designed a resource to support practitioners with the delivery of the new biomechanical principles and movement analysis content in the new WJEC physical education specifications, from GCSE through to GCE AS/A level.
