WJEC congratulates GCSE students from Wales, England and Northern Ireland
WJEC has awarded nearly 700,000 GCSE qualifications to students in school and colleges in England, Wales and Northern Ireland today.
In Wales, a record 10,692 of candidates were awarded the Welsh Baccalaureate Intermediate Diploma and 2,180 candidates achieved the Welsh Baccalaureate Foundation Diploma.
Gareth Pierce, WJEC's Chief Executive said:
“We congratulate students today for their achievements and wish them all the best as they continue with their education or take the first steps in their careers. We also thank all the teachers and parents who have supported them in their studies.
“GCSEs are changing over the coming years, and we look forward to working closely with schools and colleges in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to support teachers as they deliver the new qualifications in the classroom.”
