The external assessment for Unit 4: European Tourism Destinations, is now available to download on the secure site.

The Level 1 / 2 Award in Tourism (VQ) (QAN - 600/9908/2) and the Level 1 / 2 Certificate in Tourism (VQ) (QAN - 601/4549/3) provide a learning experience for 14 to 16 year olds through applied learning. Students will acquire and apply knowledge, skills and understanding through purposeful tasks set in sector or subject contexts that have many of the characteristics of real work. The qualifications are built from discrete units which allow for synoptic learning and assessment, enthusing and motivating learners in their study of Tourism.

Level 3 Tourism consultation (May 2016)

WJEC has created a statement of purpose for new Level 3 qualifications in Tourism that will be made available to centres for a September 2017 start.

We are still in the very early stages of development and we would value your views and opinions on the current proposal in this first round of consultation.

The statement of purpose can be viewed online.

Once you have viewed the statement of purpose, please complete the survey by 10 June.

Additional qualifications accredited (October 2014)

New qualifications accredited including Level 1/2 Award and Certificate in Sport, Level 1/2 Award in Hospitality and Catering and Level 1/2 Award in Event Operations

Tourism award accredited (December 2013)

The Tourism award has been accredited for teaching from September and first certification in summer 2015. The award is included in the Key Stage 4 Performance Tables for 2016.

New qualifications launched by WJEC (December 2013)

Tourism is one of a group of exciting new courses offered by WJEC including Construction and the Built Environment, Digital Literacy, Retail Business and Sport.
