The GCE Applied Science Specification is intended to place science in an applied context and shows the relevance of science in the world of work. Special features incorporated into the course include: Highly vocational contexts built into the content of units, and Centres/Candidates are given a wide choice of units with a variety of different types of assessment.

The Pre-release for May 2017 ASC1 examination is now available.
A list of practical investigation titles (2016-2017) for the externally assessed Applied Scientific Investigation unit is now available.
Ofqual confirmed on Tuesday 2 December that the last exams in A level Applied Science will take place in June 2017, with re-sit opportunities to follow.
- A writing frame is also available for the ASC4 Applied Science unit. Please ensure that candidates complete the plan section before undertaking the investigation.
- A check list for candidates for ASC4 is now available.
- The ASC4 cover sheet should be used and submitted with the work.
