Religious Studies GCSE
WJEC provides, and will continue to provide GCSE Religious Studies qualifications which meet the needs of teachers and the requirements of regulators in both England and Wales.
WJEC currently offers two different Religious Studies specifications at GCSE. WJEC GCSE Religious Studies remains popular with centres for a number of reasons including:
- the clarity of the specifications and assessment material
- the quality of training both face-to-face and online
- extensive online teaching materials available
- in-depth CPD courses and training material provided
- the high quality of service provided by WJEC staff.

For centres in Wales: WJEC GCSE Religious Studies deferred
On 11 February, Qualifications Wales announced their decision to defer the introduction of the new GCSE Religious Studies, for first teaching from September 2016 to September 2017. For more information, please read our latest news article.

For centres in England: WJEC Eduqas GCSE (9-1) Religious Studies (for teaching from 2016)
Through our Eduqas brand, WJEC is developing a reformed GCSE (9-1) Religious Studies qualification, regulated by Ofqual, for teaching from 2016. This qualification meets regulatory requirements in England. The draft specification and draft sample assessment materials can be found on the Eduqas GCSE (9-1) Religious Studies page.
