Event Operations (Specification B)

The Level 1/2 Award in Event Operations B (601/4545/6) is being withdrawn with a final assessment opportunity available in Summer 2018. Centres delivering the course from 2017 should refer to the amended Specification A.

The WJEC Level 1 / 2 Award in Event Operations (VQ) (QAN - 601/4545/6) has been designed to support learners in schools and colleges who want to learn about this vocational sector and the potential it can offer them for their careers or further study. It is most suitable as a foundation for further study. This further study would provide learners with the opportunity to develop a range of specialist and general skills that would support their progression to employment. Employment in events can range from administration, crowd control, event sales, event branding, exhibition organisation and communications. All of these roles require further education and training either through apprenticeships or further and higher education.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. It is most likely to be studied by 14-16 year olds in schools alongside GCSEs.
