New Specification

Along with other non-core subjects GCSE Physical Education has been revised for first teaching in September 2009 and first awarding in July 2011. The specification and the accompanying specimen assessment materials have been fully accredited by QCA and DCELLS.

The WJEC GCSE in Physical Education course is popular with centres in both Wales and England.

The scheme is assessed through practical (controlled assement) work which accounts for 60% of the assessment and the written exanination paper.

Coursework marksheets (2011) are available for download.

Controlled Assessment - Instructions for teachers

You are advised to read pages 14 to18  of the specification for detailed advice relating to the administration of controlled assessment.

The controlled assessement tasks and criteria are printed on pages 19 to 36.
