WJEC offers Music courses at GCE, GCSE and Entry level. The suite of qualifications has proved popular with centres for a variety of reasons, including:

  • the clarity of the specifications and assessment material;
  • the quality of Professional Development provision;
  • the performing component at GCE and GCSE, examined by visiting examiners;
  • the approachability of WJEC staff.

National Youth Arts Wales

National Youth Arts Wales (NYAW) offers young people living in Wales a range of opportunities to practise the performing arts, in theatre, instrumental and vocal music and dance.

Auditions are held annually throughout Wales to select young people up to and including the age of 21 to take part in training workshops culminating in public performances in some the foremost venues in Wales and beyond.
