Coursework will be centre-marked and externally moderated. The coursework sample must be submitted to moderators at the beginning of May in the final year of the course.
Examinations
The external examination is a single paper of 1¼ hours duration. This paper will be set and marked externally which is held in March, in the final year of the course.
The Entry Level Certificate examination in Mathematics will provide well planned courses based on a more relevant curriculum for those pupils in their final years of secondary education who find the more formal approach to education and examinations inappropriate to their abilities and needs. It enables pupils to develop, by providing a variety of learning experiences and of teaching and assessment strategies through which the development of knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes relevant to adult life may be encouraged.
