Information & Communication Technology Short Course GCSE
The WJEC GCSE ICT Short course is proving to be increasingly popular with centres, within both Wales and England.
The Short Course scheme is assessed through an external examination consisting of one written paper and coursework. External assessment accounts for 40% of the marks and coursework for 60% of the marks. The coursework component consists only of a Portfolio of work (60%).
There are two tiers for the Short Course, Higher A* - D and Foundation C - G.
Support material and additional resources can be found free of charge on NGfL-Cymru. Past papers and marking schemes are available free of charge to teaching staff on our Secure Website. Further resources are available through our online Shop.
There is a regular programme of Continuing Professional Development CPD every autumn delivered by senior examiners and teachers of the courses. This provision may be provided every other year once a specification has become established.
