News
The Department for Education has recently reviewed the criteria which must be met for qualifications to attract performance points. Unfortunately, for the 2014 performance measures, FS qualifications are not of the requisite size and therefore will not count in these tables after 2013.
WJEC will continue to provide FS qualifications at all levels as centres have shown that the demand is there for a rigorous and pertinent assessment for the range of learners following these courses.
Submission of marks for centre-assessed examination components
A new online system for the submission of marks and the identification of sample in centre-assessed units will be applied to ALL Functional Skills Entry Level subjects from the June 2013 series.

June 2013 assessments
The FS Entry Level 1, 2 & 3 assessments will be available to download from the WJEC Secure website (Resources PDF download>Controlled Assessment Materials) from 15 April 2013.
Assessment Window: 29 April - 24 May 2013.
The FS ICT Level 1 & 2 data files and Instructions for Teachers booklet will be available to download from the WJEC secure website (Resources PDF download>Controlled Assessment Materials) from 6 May 2013.
Assessment Window: 13 - 17 May 2013.
Centres that are entering candidates for the Level 1 & 2 assessments will need to complete the Assessment Log Form and Centre Information Form and completed Candidate and Teacher Declaration Form and submit both forms to the examiner along with the candidates' work.

Please note that Functional Skills qualifications are only available to centres in England.
Resources
A set of Teachers' Guides has been written to accompany the new FS ICT course. The guides are electronic documents which can be downloaded below. They are fully interactive, containing multimedia files, useful hyperlinks to resources, and all the information teachers will need. The documents will be frequently updated, to ensure that the information prsented is accurate and up to date.
