ABUS Assessments

ABUS1

This unit is assessed by examination. The examination is of two hours' duration and is available in the winter and summer examination series. The examination is designed to be taken on-screen. All questions are to be attempted.

ABUS2

This unit is assessed by coursework. The HTML document for this assessment can be accessed via the secure web and downloaded. There is only one assessment offered for each academic year and it is internally assessed and externally moderated. The deadline for submission of the sample is 15 May 2013.

ABUS3

This unit is assessed by controlled assessment. The assessments are externally set, internally marked and externally moderated. Candidates have 15 hours to complete the assessment. The HTML document for these assessments can be accessed via the secure web and downloaded immediately prior to the windows opening. The windows in which the assessments may be completed are as follows:

• Winter series - 5 November to 7 December 2012. Despatch of sample to moderator by 11 January 2013.
• Summer series - 11 March to 26 April 2012. Despatch of sample to moderators by 15 May 2013.

ABUS4

This unit is assessed by coursework. The HTML document for this assessment can be accessed via the secure web and downloaded. There is only one assessment offered for each academic year and it is internally assessed and externally moderated. The deadline for submission of the sample is 15 May 2013.

ABUS5

This unit is assessed by examination. The examination is of 2 hours' duration and is available in the winter and summer examination series. The examination is designed to be taken on-screen. The examination is split into four sections, A – D, which coincide with sections 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4 in the specification (unit ABUS5). Candidates are expected to attempt any two of the four sections.
