Creative and Media Levels:

Find qualifications and resources

WJEC’s Principal Learning in Creative and Media is an employer-led qualification incorporating specific knowledge, understanding and skills related to the Media, Performing Arts and Art and Design sectors. At least 50% of the course has to be applied, taking place in a real or simulated work-related environment.

This stimulating new course can be studied as an option for the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification, or as part of the Diploma. It offers a number of features which learners and teachers will appreciate:

  • Assignments provide opportunities to learn from practitioners in the Creative and Media sector: learners gain relevant work experience and valuable transferable skills
  • Both practical and academic skills are developed through applied learning
  • Learners work across a range of disciplines, gaining broad experience of the sector
  • The flexibility of the course enables learners to specialise in individual areas of interest
  • Assessment is through a combination of projects and exams, catering for differing learning styles
