WJEC offers Sociology courses at GCE and GCSE level. The suite of qualifications has proved popular with centres for a number of reasons. These include: 

  • the clarity of the specifications and assessment material;
  • the quality of INSET Professional Development provision; 
  • the reliability of examining and moderation; 
  • the approachability of WJEC staff.

WJEC provides, and will continue to provide, GCE and GCSE Sociology qualifications which meet the needs of teachers and the requirements of regulators in both England and Wales.

Dates for internal assessment standardising CPD for the next academic year will be published shortly. Examination review will be provided online; further details will be issued in due course.
