The purpose of this pack is to offer support to Welsh Second Language departments in schools who opt to follow the ‘Practical Welsh Second Language’ specification at KS4.
Elements of the concept of ‘Assessment for Learning’ are emphasised: making pupils aware of assessment criteria, self assessment and peer assessment and giving feedback. Opportunities to develop skills such as ICT, communication and problem solving are included.
In addition to providing a concise guide to the essential elements of assessment for learning and developing thinking, this package includes exemplar teaching units showing good practice. A DVD is included showing two exemplar lessons and other useful supplementary material.
This book and the accompanying CD-ROM include practical activities and comprehensive guidance on how to make the best use of seven popular poems from the book Poeth, Y Lolfa, 2001.
