WJEC offers a range of post-results services relating to enquiries about results and access to examination scripts. Services linked to enquiries about results are as follows:

  • Clerical re-check - a re-check of all clerical procedures leading to the issue of a result
  • Post-results review of marking - a review of the original marking to ensure that the agreed mark scheme has been applied correctly
  • Post-results review of moderation

These services are available via examination centres only, so parents and students are advised to discuss any concerns about examination results with their relevant school or college.

Private candidates (i.e. those not in full-time attendance at a WJEC centre at the time of sitting the examination) who have concerns about examination results should check details of available post-results services as outlined in the booklet Post-Results Services published, on behalf of all the awarding bodies, by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ). The booklet which includes telephone contact numbers can be viewed on the JCQ website. A copy of the booklet has been sent to the Examinations Officers at all examination centres.
