Find qualifications and resources

15 August 2012

In response to Ofqual’s A level reform consultation, WJEC is planning a new suite of A level qualifications for possible teaching from September 2014.

Invitation to lecturers

An important feature of the new developments will be the involvement of Higher Education: there will be an opportunity for universities to influence the content of studies undertaken by sixth form students before they begin their university careers. Selected lecturers will play an important advisory role in developing new A level specifications and assessment materials.

WJEC is inviting expressions of interest from lecturers in a range of science, language and humanities subjects. Involvement is likely to include participation in subject-specific groups sharing ideas on potential improvements on the current courses of study, followed, in some instances, by opportunities to contribute to the development of materials for accreditation.

Further information

Lecturers in the following subjects are invited to send concise CVs to sandra.anstey@wjec.co.uk by 31 August: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English Literature, French, German, Spanish, Geography and History. Applicants are welcome to telephone Sandra Anstey on 029 2026 5132 for an informal conversation or visit www.wjec.co.uk/workingforus for further details.
