Find qualifications and resources

4 June 2012

WJEC is at the Urdd Eisteddfod this week, one of Europe’s largest youth festivals. The wealth of activities on our stand will demonstrate that we do more than just award exams!

The Eisteddfod takes place in Glynllifon, near Caernarfon. Our stand will be open between 9am – 5pm and members of WJEC’s staff will be happy to help with any queries.

Visitors are invited to come along to our stand, number 34-35, to enjoy some lively events and learn about our new educational developments.

Highlights

Urdd 2012 EngOne of the highlights of the week is a sing-along with the well-known character Rala Rwdins of songs from Darllen Mewn Dim, one of the many books WJEC’s editorial  team have been working on aimed at children aged 3 – 7 at the foundation stage.

Older children won’t miss out either: towards the end of the week they can take part in a Welsh Baccalaureate quiz and have the chance to win up to £25 of iTunes vouchers. Students who are studying A-level Music can enjoy a composition session with Pwyll ap Siôn and Sioned Roberts.

NGfL Cymru will be joining us on the stand to demonstrate the wealth of online resources they have been busy developing to stimulate and entertain teachers, students and their parents. You can also have fun with the CILT Cymru team, the body that promotes Modern Foreign Languages, who will be on the stand with a badge-making machine and plenty of quizzes.

GwyddonLe

WJEC will also be sponsoring science craft workshops in the GwyddonLe tent throughout the week at this year’s Eisteddfod. New to the Eisteddfod since 2010, GwyddonLe boasts a range of science activities, interactive displays and interesting experiments and is one of the most popular attractions on the Maes.

We look forward to see you in Glynllifon!
