Want to work in fashion? Speak Welsh in the workplace? Use ICT?
Begin your lifelong pathway to learning with WJEC! Come to the Skills Cymru event at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff 16 -18 September. You’ll have the opportunity to try activities like making smoothies and improving your thinking skills – and at the same time you can find out more about WJEC’s vocational qualifications which will help you in the world of education and the workplace.
This is your chance to expand your horizons and choose which direction to take in the future. You could even win a laptop by completing some of the fun activities on WJEC’s stand!

In order to win a Samsung laptop worth £250, kindly donated by the Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education, (RSSCSE) University of Plymouth, come and have a go at the following activities:
- smoothie-making with fresh ingredients (and a chance to sample your wares of course!)
- embroidery and appliqué, with a variety of textiles
- origami - and win a cup, courtesy of the RSSCSE
- test your Welsh
As a visitor to the stand, you will receive a learning “passport” to gain stamps in each area, and you may win a few prizes along the way!
WJEC offers a wide range of interesting qualifications to choose from which you build on to create a portfolio of qualifications from Entry level to level 8, as part of the government's new Qualification & Credit Framework.
The various units teach life skills and work-based skills, with enough flexibility to create a unique learning pathway customised to your individual interests.
Here are some of the Entry Level units:
- Using technology in the Home & Community
- Hairdressing: Introduction to Assisting a stylist
- Motor Vehicle Maintenance
- Introduction to Animal Care
And of course, we also offer a number of practical qualifications at GCSE and A Level, in addition to Key Skills, Essential Skills Wales, the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification and Welsh for Adults. Essentially, something for everyone, whatever your ambitions in life or your age.
