New Vocational Science Qualifications

WJEC is developing new vocational qualifications in Applied Science at level 1 and 2 for first teaching from September 2011. These qualifications will be based upon QCF units and will be available in Wales only.
Features of the new qualifications:
- Build upon key stage 3
- Enable regional/ local links
- Flexible options
- Link to 14-19 Learning Pathways
- Unitised scheme
- Certificate – 15 credits
- Extended Certificate – 30 credits
- Diploma – 60 credits
- Units
- GLH: 30 hours
- 5 credits
- Unit grading D, M, P
Invitation to attend consultation meetings
Teachers are invited to attend one of the consultation meetings we are holding, to help shape these exciting new qualifications.
