Diploma Components and Prior Achievement

For centres in England, a range of WJEC qualifications can be used as constituent components towards Diploma awards.

Provided that Unique Learner Numbers (ULNs) are supplied at the time that entries are submitted, then WJEC will upload these results automatically to candidates’ learner accounts in the Diploma Aggregation Service (DAS).

Occasionally however, centres may open new learner accounts in the Diploma Aggregation Service where the candidates concerned have already achieved component results which they wish to include as part of their Diploma. These component results are regarded as prior achievement, and they will also be uploaded automatically to DAS provided that (a) the results were achieved no earlier than the summer 2009 series, and (b) that ULNs were attached to all relevant entry files submitted to WJEC.

For most prior achievement results therefore, centres will not need to submit any additional information to WJEC. The relevant results will automatically appear in candidates’ learner accounts within 10 working days of any new account being opened. If the results do not appear within 10 working days centres should inform WJEC by email – das@wjec.co.uk or by telephone – (029) 2026 5089/5077

Where candidates wish to submit prior achievement results that were either (a) achieved prior to June 2009 or (b) did not have ULNs attached at the time the entries were submitted, a prior achievement form must be completed and submitted to WJEC.

The form, along with instructions for its completion can be downloaded by clicking below
