WJEC celebrates the success of A level students in 2013
WJEC has recognised the success of its highest achieving student in every A level subject in its annual A level Awards, at a special ceremony in Cardiff this week.
Pupils in schools and colleges all over England and Wales have been congratulated for their hard work and success. From Art & Design to Physics, WJEC has awarded winners for 35 of its A level subjects.
The awards are based on the highest UMS (Uniform Mark Scale) marks achieved by students in each individual subject.
The Welsh Education Minister, Huw Lewis AM, was present and gave a speech on the importance of A levels. He said:
WJEC's Director of Qualifications, Elizabeth Arthur, said:
“We're delighted once again to have the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of pupils all over England and Wales in their A levels.
“A levels are the gateway to students' future. Many of the winners have gone on to study at some of the UK's best higher education institutions, with others taking the first step in their careers. The students' dedication to their studies will ensure that they have the best start in life.”
