WJEC Chief Executive congratulates students on their exams success

‚Äč

WJEC has awarded over 75,000 A level and more than 110,000 AS qualifications to candidates in centres in England, Wales and Northern Ireland today. In Wales, a record 8,565 candidates were awarded the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Diploma.

Gareth Pierce, WJEC's Chief Executive said:

“Congratulations to all students receiving their results today and I wish them all the best as they progress to higher education or employment. At WJEC we also appreciate the exceptional efforts of teaching staff to help young people reach their potential, and we look forward to working with them again in the coming academic year.

“As the content and structure of A levels are in the process of being reviewed in the UK, we look forward to remaining fully involved in discussions relating to qualifications development in England, Wales and Northern Ireland so that we can continue to provide excellent qualifications that meet policy requirements and reflect the needs of young people.”
